FAQ
Bath Linen (5)
Our towels are devoid of harmful synthetic dyes, rendering them safer for you and gentler on the environment. However, they are more prone to discoloration when exposed to specific harsh chemicals. If your skincare regimen involves ingredients like benzoyl peroxide, we suggest using Roman Dwell white towels.
Chemicals to steer clear of include, but are not restricted to, bleaching agents, sodium hypochlorite, hydrogen peroxide, and benzoyl peroxide, commonly found in acne treatments, anti-aging creams, hair dyes, teeth whitening products, and other formulations.
We recommend tumble drying towels in a low temperature and drying with other towels or bedding. Do not throw in the dryer with clothing, especially ones with zippers and other hardware as these can snag the fibers of your towels.
At this time we do not have an exchange policy for Roman Dwell towels. If you would like to exchange your merchandise, simply return your order and repurchase the item of your choice.
Roman Dwell towels come in the following standard sizes:
Face towel* 13” x 13”
Hand towel* 20” x 30”
Bath towel 30” x 60”
Bath sheet 36” x 72”
Machine wash in cold water with like-color towels and bedding. Do not wash with clothing, especially ones with zippers and other hardware as these can snag the fibers of your towels.
Tumble dry in low or medium heat.

Most down alternative pillows are more hypoallergenic than traditional down pillows. We go a step further by covering ours with a hypoallergenic organic cotton shell to make sure it’s free of harmful chemicals.
Certainly, for hygiene reasons, we highly recommend washing your sheets before using them. Please be aware that the sheets may undergo a slight shrinkage after their initial wash, but this is a natural process and should not be significant if laundered under the appropriate conditions. Rest assured, they will still accommodate the recommended mattress size. For more information, refer to our Care Guide.
Our Fitted Sheets are designed to fit mattresses up to 15″ deep, with 12-15″ being the best fit. If your mattress is any deeper or thinner than that, our Fitted Sheets might not be completely compatible with your mattress.

The height of your pillow, also known as the pillow loft, is important in maintaining proper spinal alignment while you sleep. Your preferred pillow height will depend on factors such as your sleeping position, body type, mattress firmness, and pillow firmness. The right pillow height should ensure that your head is aligned with your spine so you can avoid neck and back pain. Generally, for optimal spinal alignment, your ears should be at the same level as your shoulders.
When most people look to upgrade their sleep quality, one of the first things they ask is “What is the most comfortable bedding?”. Comfort can be highly subjective, but there are lots of bedding options to suit every type of sleeper.
Sheet sets come in a variety of fabrics for all budgets and comfort preferences. If you suffer from allergies, hypoallergenic sheets like cotton percale sheet set is great option.
If you tend to sleep hot, natural fabrics like 100% cotton or linen are far more breathable than synthetic fabrics. They’re also better at wicking away moisture if you tend to sweat throughout the night.
Another thing to note is the thread count of sheets. According to the National Sleep Foundation, the sweet spot for thread count in cotton sheets is between 200 and 400. If you tend to sleep hot, a higher thread count may not be a great choice as it tends to trap body heat. Sticking to that sweet spot for thread count is a good way to ensure your cotton sheets won’t feel too warm.
Our Down Alternative Pillow absorbs very little body heat while offering a high volume of airflow which allows you to sleep very cool.
Rather than using goose feathers and down as fill, down alternative pillows use hypoallergenic synthetic fibers that mimic the plush, lofty feel of traditional down pillows.
Napping can reduce stress, elevate mood, increase productivity and alertness, boost creativity and critical thinking abilities, and provide an energizing reboot without necessarily achieving REM sleep.
The key properties that make a bed sheet cool include moisture-wicking abilities, breathability, type of weave, thread count, and the material used. Moisture-wicking sheets help remove excess moisture and reduce body temperature, while breathable fabrics allow for better air circulation. The weave type also impacts how cool the sheets feel, and an optimal thread count, typically between 200 to 400, helps in preventing heat retention. Popular cool sheet materials include cotton, bamboo, and TENCEL fibers.
A duvet set comes with a duvet cover and pillow shams. Our Roman Dwell duvet sets come with matching shams which are designed to be more decorative and placed over your duvet cover.
Depending on the size, a duvet cover set comes with one standard/queen pillowcase or sham for Twin & Twin XL, or two Standard/Queen or King size pillowcases or shams for Queen and King/Cal King.

Thread count is the number of horizontal (warp) and vertical (weft) threads in one square inch of cotton fabric. The higher the thread count, the warmer the fabric becomes.
Note that thread count is only relevant to cotton sheets. It’s also only one indicator of good quality. Cotton sheet thread count can vary from the 100s to 1,000 or higher. The problem is you can only get so many threads into a loom. Some bedding manufacturers might sacrifice thread quality to increase the thread count.
We chose a thread count of 300 for our sateen cotton and 200 for our percale cotton to achieve the perfect balance of breathability, softness, and durability. We only use long-staple cotton, made from longer cotton fibers, for a stronger, smoother, more durable fabric.
The OEKO-TEX® Standard 100 is the internationally accepted standard for certifying textiles and home furnishings. Products that carry the OEKO-TEX® Standard 100 seal have been tested to ensure they’re free of toxic chemicals.
Machine wash on its own in cold water on a gentle cycle. Do not bleach. Tumble dry low and remove promptly. Mild, organic detergents work best.
Both percale and sateen are crafted from the finest long-staple cotton, with their distinction arising from their weaving techniques.
Our cotton percale boasts a cool and crisp texture, akin to the perfect white button-down shirt. This fabric undergoes garment washing, imparting a soft texture and a relaxed appearance. Percale is highly breathable and gains added softness with use, without the need for synthetic finishes.
On the other hand, our sateen offers an exceptionally soft and smooth feel, termed as a matte sateen due to its subdued luster. It exudes a luxurious elegance and naturally resists wrinkles.
Linen, derived from the flax plant, is a natural fiber that surpasses cotton in strength and durability. Our linen fabric undergoes garment dyeing and washing, resulting in a softened texture that grows more supple with each wash. Ideal for warm climates, linen offers a light and airy feel, perfect for those seeking a classic, casual aesthetic.
For enthusiasts of classic percale seeking a buttery soft touch, brushed cotton is the epitome of coziness. Garment washing enhances its plushness, offering a sleep experience warmer than percale but cooler than sateen.
Crafted from 100% cotton sheets feature a crisp, clean weave. These sheets are garment washed for a supremely soft, lived-in feel, ensuring a restful slumber.
In contrast to other bedding brands, we refrain from artificially softening our fabrics with silicon, formaldehyde, or harmful chemicals. Opting for our products means experiencing the fabric in its purest and most natural state. Our fabrics will naturally soften over time with regular use and washing.
Characteristics (3)
Unlike other brands, we avoid artificial wrinkle-free chemicals in our sheets. Being 100% cotton, they will naturally wrinkle.
With each wash, wrinkles lessen. Opt for hang drying to minimize wrinkles. If using a dryer, remove sheets 5 minutes early and lay flat to dry.
Our Fitted Sheets accommodate mattresses with a depth of up to 15 inches.
They are designed to fit most direct-to-consumer brand mattresses, ranging from 10 to 15 inches in depth. Additionally, they are suitable for use on adjustable mattresses. Should you find that our Sheets don’t fit your mattress perfectly, remember we offer a 30-day return policy for your peace of mind.
